Design in the age of vibes
AI tools are shifting design from execution to judgment, reshaping workflows, and priorities.
UX / product design leader
Currently leading product design at DataRobot where we are creating the infrastructure for teams to build agentic AI solutions, powered by predictive and generative workflows. Before this, I was building AI products in Accenture, creating digital learning experiences in HMH and designing consumer products with Design Partners.
Below is a small cross-section of relevant work that I can share (a lot is subject to confidentiality agreements). I am happy to walk through my process and discuss these public examples, get in touch if you would like to learn more.
While DataRobot was initially known for AutoML, our focus is now firmly on enabling AI builders to create and manage agentic workflows — often using AI tools to build new AI features. My role is often hands-on, thinking by doing and leading through action in order to navigate this agentic future and align cross-functional teams.
Led a major redesign of DataRobot to accommodate new GenAI capabilities, improve usability and increase adoption across core workflows. My role involved framing the initial vision, leading the design team in close collaboration with PM, engineering, and leadership. Read more here
Design operations, team strategy and coaching a globally distributed team of 10 designers and UX resarchers across 11 time zones, making sure they have what they need to do the best work of their careers.
Initiated and led the design of a global design system used across Accenture web apps—establishing a scalable, systematic foundation still in use today.
The Accenture Logistics Platform uses machine learning to help postal companies deliver parcels more efficiently by optimizing existing networks, transforming postal services into dynamic services that meet customer needs for speed and flexibility. Piloted with USPS.
These articles represent my latest thinking on how AI is resahping how we design, build software and lead teams.
18+ years designing and scaling digital products—from early-stage startups to global enterprises. Based in Dublin, Ireland. I thrive in zero to one and scale-up environments. Areas of focus in recent years:
I lead product design at DataRobot, working closely with product and engineering leadership to shape the product strategy and user experience for our enterprise AI platform. I recently led a full platform redesign and we're now building new agentic AI capabilities. I also manage a globally distributed design and UX research team, ensuring they have what they need to help bring our vision to life.
As Design Director at The Dock, Accenture's global innovation hub in Dublin, I led product design and strategy for a range of enterprise projects within the New Products and Services group. I co-led a 20-person multi-disciplinary design team, providing design direction for a diverse range of AI-enabled emerging technology projects.
At HMH, the second-largest education publisher in the US, I was focused on building digital classroom experiences for teachers and students such as 'Science Dimensions', an interactive K–12 science program.
Opened the San Francisco branch of this Irish industrial design consultancy, leading design, operations, and business development. Highlights included the Cricut Explore and working with Bay Area start-ups. I also worked with Design Partners in Dublin from 2006 to 2011, where I learned my craft. That foundation in physical product design still shapes my approach today; grounding work in user needs, the power of prototyping and making ideas real, and a deep respect for how things are made.
I'm always happy to chat about design, leadership, and AI.
